Alejandro has extensive experience in arbitration against public entities, administrative law, protection of foreign investments, negotiations and procedures before public organizations and contentious-administrative litigation.
He has established himself as one of the main specialists in administrative and constitutional procedural law in Venezuela, due to his extensive experience in litigation against the State, and has acquired international notoriety for the various jurisdictions with which he works: Italy, Spain and Latin America, for Name the most significant ones in your practice.
Alejandro has served as an expert and advisor in public law and international arbitration in jurisdictional proceedings in Italy, France, Spain, Singapore, the Netherlands, England and Venezuela.

A selection of your experience

  • Alejandro has focused a large part of his professional practice on commercial and investment arbitration, advising on restructuring of foreign investments, arbitration claims and annulments of awards both in chambers of commerce, arbitration centers, and before ordinary courts.
  • He has vast experience in administrative procedures before public entities, highlighting advice on public tenders and contracting, as well as assistance and representation in administrative procedures in regulatory, antitrust, expropriation matters and in general before the organizations in charge of economic control and regulation.
  • He also has extensive experience in negotiations and alternative means of conflict resolution before the State, where he has advised and represented clients from various jurisdictions, especially in matters of investment protection.

Publications

Alejandro has published works on administrative procedural law and constitutional procedural law, and has also been co-author and coordinator of various publications on economic administrative law, administrative procedure and constitutional law. He has also published works on free competition and economic regulation in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Academic activity

It is well known for its academic activity, including Georgetown University (United States), Ius Publicum Innovatio from the University of La Coruña (Spain), the Università di Foggia (Italy) and numerous Venezuelan universities such as the Andrés Bello Catholic University and the Central University of Venezuela. 

Awards

Alejandro has been recognized by Chambers Latin America in Public Law since 2016, and in the publication The Legal 500, since 2015. At the local level he has received Second Prize in the Faculty Research Contest of the Andrés Bello Catholic University for the work “The Right to Defense in Administrative Headquarters.” 2014.
